Quesadillas are a Mexican dish that involve either a folded tortilla or two tortillas used the same way a bun is used in burger. It is filled primarily with cheese (the vegetarian version) and sometimes with meats, jalapeños, beans and spices.
All our white corn products are made in Melbourne with Australian grown white corn
Grate the desired amount of cheese (make sure you use a nice melty type), we recommend plenty - who does not like melted yummy cheese!
Mix in the Ki Gourmet sauce, the amount depends on your preference, we recommend about a quarter cup for each quesadilla.
Drain the beans and the jalapeños and add into the mixed cheese, make sure you stir in desired quantity (about a spoonful each for each quesadilla) and mix them all together.
Fill the tortilla with mix on one side and then fold top to enclose or spread it over one that you have laid flat in the pan and lay the other tortilla depending on the style of quesadilla you are after.
Please use a pre-heated non-stick pan with no oil as the oil may brown the outside before the cheese melts properly, set the stove on medium heat.
Cover with a lid if possible as that will help melt the cheese faster, flip over once by carefully using your fingers on the uncooked side to hold it all together, continue cooking without the lid this time.
This should be about 2-3 minutes on each side.
Cut and serve immediately, a side of guacamole, a salsa verde or salsa roja are suitable as a dipping sauce.
